WINCANTON HORSE SHOW
In line with many other shows, the following rules are being
applied to Wincanton Horse Show with regard to Equine
IMPORTANT NOTICE: EQUINE INFLUENZA
Horses must have been vaccinated to comply with the
requirements of the primary course (1st vaccination and then
a 2nd vaccination between 21 and 92 days later), followed by
the first booster (150-215 days) and all subsequent
boosters. Horses may compete having received the primary
course and prior to the first booster, but not within 7 days
of receiving a vaccine dose. Horses must have been
vaccinated within SIX MONTHS of the show but not less than
seven days before the show.
Stabling will NOT be provided unless rules regarding Equine
Influenza above are adhered to.
When contacting the Racecourse to book stabling, please
email a copy of your vaccination record to both:
Passports MUST be shown to Stable Manager and Show
Secretary before unloading horses to the Racecourse stable
yard on Saturday 3 August.
No passport, no stable, no refund!
An important reminder.....it is a legal requirement that any
horse being transported is accompanied by its passport, with
a maximum fine of £5,000 for non-compliance with this rule,
so let's not get it wrong!
Passports (with up to date vaccinations as per above rules)
must also be shown when collecting numbers and entering on
WHS does not want to deter competitors from entering the
show, hence the advance notice of the vaccination
requirements. We all need to work together to ensure that
the recent outbreak of Equine Influenza does not spread any
